Stage 1. User Research

Connected with over 100 travelers through online surveys, in-depth interviews, and virtual focus groups to gain rich insights into their travel behaviors, planning challenges, and expectations from travel platforms. This research uncovered key pain points such as lack of personalization, complicated booking processes, and limited destination inspiration. The findings guided the creation of user personas that reflected various traveler types, from solo adventurers to family vacationers, laying a strong foundation for the website’s user-centered design.

Stage 2. Ideation & Conceptualization

Facilitated collaborative ideation sessions with stakeholders, marketers, and fellow designers to generate impactful features tailored to modern travelers. We explored user journey maps for various travel types, family holidays, business trips, solo adventures, to visualize seamless interactions with trip planning, bookings, and destination discovery. The concept phase emphasized intuitive workflows, personalized experiences, and travel inspiration at every touchpoint.

Stage 3. Design Execution

Wireframing:
Created over 60 wireframes covering the website’s core flows, search, booking, itinerary planning, and customer support. Every layout was thoughtfully designed to reduce friction and guide users naturally from interest to checkout.

Prototyping:
Used Figma’s interactive features to build high-fidelity prototypes that simulated real-world interactions. These clickable prototypes were shared with stakeholders and potential users, offering hands-on previews of the site’s features and navigation experience.

UI Design:
Designed a clean and vibrant interface using a travel-inspired color palette and legible typography optimized for mobile and desktop use. Incorporated feedback throughout the process to ensure visual appeal, clarity, and consistency, reflecting the brand’s identity and encouraging travel exploration.

Stage 4. User Testing & Iterations

Conducted remote user testing sessions with a diverse group of travelers, using both qualitative feedback (via interviews and screen recordings) and quantitative metrics (task success rates, time on task) to evaluate the website’s usability and booking experience. Insights from these sessions revealed key areas for improvement, such as streamlining trip customization and clarifying pricing details. Applied iterative refinements to enhance navigation flow, boost trust through visual cues, and increase overall user satisfaction.

Stage 5. Final Presentation & Documentation

Delivered a detailed presentation to stakeholders summarizing the entire design journey, from user research to final prototypes. Provided thorough documentation, including user personas, journey maps, wireframes, design specifications, and testing outcomes. Emphasized how the revamped travel platform simplifies trip planning, inspires exploration, and supports travelers at every stage of their journey.
